Meeting Minutes

    1. Updates since last meeting (Lisa)
      1. Presentation to Finance Subcommittee regarding advertising media & Marketing budget
    2. Faculty & Staff Engagement program discussion
      1. Committee will create an Introductory course to Marketing MCC
      2. Committee will select 10-20 participants for a pilot course
        1. Committee members will submit 3-4 names for first pilot course
        2. After first pilot course, ask participants for suggestions and comments in order to create final course
      3. Course to consist of the following topics:
        1. Basics of Enrollment for Students at MCC (Current processes for students to enroll at MCC)
        2. Social Media basics
    • Abbreviated history of MCC and the Highlanders
    1. Points of Pride (MCC’s firsts) (i.e. First Community College in Texas with All-Steinway designation)
    2. Marketing Resources we offer at MCC
      1. Viewbooks, info sheets, webpage managers, etc.
    3. List of current student organizations
    • Demographics of our current students
    • Programs we offer including description of each Pathway and what we offer that TSTC does not offer (and other competitors)
    1. Review FAQs that Recruiting often has questions about and create a presentation about those questions and answers
    2. Tips for promoting your program/department/service, etc.
    3. Present current advertising campaigns and artwork
    • Share what Recruiting & Marketing are currently doing to boost enrollment
    • Share initiatives like ExpressPath, Restart, Reskilling, etc. (Review the current Strategic Enrollment Management Plan for updated list)

    1. Committee will create a webpage or another digital location for participants to review the content as well as receive updates on the information learned later.
    2. Admissions will submit the training for our student ambassadors to use as a template

      1. SEM Mondays (once a month email with a short video from a committee member and other sub-committees’ members)
        1. In order to keep the entire campus up-to-date on all enrollment strategies, the committee would like to create short (2-minute maximum) on Enrollment topics like:
          1. Deadline reminders to share with students.
          2. Committee members will choose topics to share.
          3. Enrollment tools on the website.
        2. The committee will archive these short videos for future review and maintain the archives by taking down those videos that are no longer relevant.
      2. Committee Tasks to complete prior to next meeting
        1. Action items for committee members, due by April 9
          1. Submit 3-4 pilot course participants
          2. Submit information for the course
